ASPRS is soliciting abstracts for our 2022 Annual Conference Technical Program, which will take place in two parts.

The Call for Abstracts for Geo Week in Denver is now closed to new submissions.
The Call for Abstracts for the Virtual Program remains open until February 21, 2022


Live in-person technical sessions during Geo Week in Denver, CO on Monday - Tuesday, Feb 7-8, 2022. This is a traditional in-person event. Sessions will not be broadcast or recorded.

Live online technical sessions taking place from March 21 - 25, 2022. This is a online-only event. All presentations will be recorded.

Presentation Topics

For 2022, we are seeking presentation abstracts based on ASPRS core disciplines in the collection, management, exploitation, and analysis of geospatial sources, data, and information. We are especially interested in contributions, focused on the future of imaging and geospatial information technologies, which provide a glimpse of developments on the horizon. Individuals from government agencies, private firms and universities are all encouraged to submit abstracts in the following general topic areas:

  • innovative approaches to acquisition of remote sensing and geospatial data
  • practical applications of remote sensing and geospatial data
  • remote sensing data management and processing
  • decision-making based on remote sensing and geospatial data at the local, state and federal level

Presentation Type

The following basic options for presentation format are provided in the Abstract Submission form:

  • 15-minute Oral Presentation
  • 5-minute Ignite-Style talk
  • Poster

ASPRS Division, Council, and Committee leaders who are proposing to moderate special sessions should complete the Abstract Submission form and choose one of the two presentation types listed below:

  • Invited Panel Discussion: Moderator submits the title and description. Please list the name and affiliation of each invited presenter in the Abstract Submission form where requested.
  • Invited Paper Session: Moderator submits the title and theme of the session comprising a set of 4 or 6 invited 15-minute presentations on a themed topic. Please list the name and affiliation of each invited presenter in the Abstract Submission form where requested.

Presenters participating in an Invited Paper Session as described above should each submit their own abstract as:

  • Invited Paper: Please indicate the name of the moderator who is organizing the invited session in the Abstract Submission form where requested.

Submission and Review

  • A MyASPRS account is required to access the Abstract Submission form.
  • You do not have to be an active member to have a MyASPRS account. You may use an existing non-member account or create a free guest account when prompted.
  • The primary presenter should complete the Abstract Submission form. Additional authors can be listed within the form and will appear in the program listing.
  • You will be asked to choose either the Geo Week or Virtual venue when you complete the Abstract Submission form.
  • Geo Week presenters will be given the option to present again in the virtual program if space is available. We will contact you in early February. Please do not submit the same abstract twice!
  • For ASPRS at Geo Week live event - CLOSED TO NEW SUBMISSIONS. Abstracts in the system may still be modified/edited.
    • Abstract Submission Deadline is December 13, 2021
    • Presenters Notified of Acceptance by December 20, 2021
    • Preliminary Program Published on December 27, 2021
    • Presenter Registration Deadline is January 15, 2022
    • Presentation Materials due February 4, 2022
    • Full Manuscripts for ISPRS Archives due March 31, 2022 (optional)
  • For ASPRS Virtual event
    • Abstract Submission Deadline is February 21, 2022
    • Presenters Notified of Acceptance by February 23, 2022
    • Preliminary Program Published on February 28, 2022
    • Presenter Registration Deadline is March 1, 2022
    • Presentation Materials due March 14, 2022
    • Full Manuscripts for ISPRS Archives due March 31, 2022 (optional)

Conference Registration for Presenters

  • After their abstract is accepted, all presenters including invited presenters and panelists will be required to register as an attendee at the appropriate event before they are confirmed in the final program. ASPRS members and student members are eligible for discounts.
  • Presenters in the live event at Geo Week in February must register through the ASPRS at Geo Week portal. All ASPRS Geo Week registrants will be granted full access to the virtual event in March.
  • Presenters in the virtual event do not have to register for Geo Week. They can register directly through the ASPRS Virtual Technical Program portal.

Publication of Proceedings


  • Presenters in the live sessions will be asked to provide PDF versions of their presentations which will be shared after the event with all conference attendees through the ASPRS website. Presenters will be asked to sign a release form and will have the option not to share if subject to employer/agency restrictions.
  • Presenters in the virtual sessions will be asked to provide recordings of their presentations which will be shared after the event with all conference attendees through the ASPRS website.
  • Presenters in either the live or online sessions are encouraged to submit full manuscripts which will be published in the ISPRS International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences as Proceedings of the 2022 ASPRS Annual Conference.
