US Geological Survey reorganized Landsat archive in collection format with a primary goal or providing data of consistent quality. Within a collection, USGS ensures consistent image quality through time and different sensors. Collection 1 data were released in 2016 and recently the second collection was published after reprocessing the entire Landsat data with several improvements. This lecture and demonstration workshop will overview the Landsat collection program, data characteristics, naming convention, products, and other related topics.
