eCognition is the original object-based image analysis (OBIA) software and has been used by industry leading data providers, value adders, remote sensing professionals, and earth observation scientists for nearly 20 years. It offers a comprehensive range of tools to create powerful analysis applications that can handle all common data sources, such as medium to high resolution satellite data, very high resolution aerial as well as UAV photography, GIS, lidar, radar and even hyperspectral data.

In this workshop, we will examine how Trimble eCognition can be used to extract valuable information for foresters and surveyors from a combination of image and lidar data. Users will learn how to extract individual tree crowns, tree positions and tree height using a mix of OBIA tools in a fully automated Rule Set. In addition, we will look at how surveyors are making use of eCogAI in our Trimble Business Center (TBC) software to count and analyze trees on scanned data.

If attendees would like to follow along live during the hand-on exercise, please download the eCognition Free-Trial and input data in advance.

Connection details will be sent to registrants prior to the workshop.
